Wind, Water and Waves is a four-week Young Scholars program at Seattle University designed for middle school girls and offered in partnership with Boeing, KCM (an environmental consulting firm) and Totem Girl Scout Council. The students do what America’s top scientists do every day: perform experiments and gather data; analyze the results with charts, graphs and computers; ask questions about the significance of the outcomes. They also work with scientists on research projects; use their knowledge and skills to serve the community; learn about career opportunities; develop trust and friendships; and become part of a local network and a worldwide community.
