Where the data flows free

The following is a list of sites containing data I believe to be
useful for, amoung other things, statistical education. I've given a brief,
and certainly not exhaustive, description of the contents of each site.

- Costs of food at home, births to teens, child death rates, and some
4-H statistics are provided here.

- Provides admission statistics from Florida State University.

- Information related to air safety, busiest airports, and types of aircraft
flown.

National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service
- Provides links to such data sites as the

Voyager Data Page - MIT Space Plasma Group
- Contains solar wind data (speed, density) recorded by the voyager probes.
In addition there are some ready made graphs of the data.
- Powerball Statistics
- Provides information pertaining to the multi-state lottery. Most frequently/infrequently
drawn numbers as well as a history of all the lottery draws. Winners by
state are also given.
- StatLib Index
- An exceptional site containing both a wide variety of data sets as
well as macros and statistical programs to aid in analysis. Information
related to various statistical organizations is also given.

Home Page
- Census Bureau's Data Extraction System. Provides a menu driven system
for extracting census data. As the files are coded and formated, this sight
is tor those more familiar with data analysis and manipulation.

at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory

- A variety of data sets provided by the United States Department of
Agriculture. Such subjects as food consumption and expenditures, various
crop and livestock data, and land value and usage are only a few topics
covered here.

Economic Information System, 1969-1993
- Population and various types of income can be generated by country,
state, or county.
- Journal
of Statistics Education Data Archive
- Data sets from The Basic Practice of Statistics, by David S. Moore.
Additional data sets include 1993 new car data, airport data, university
average salary information to name a few.
- The U.S.S. Voyager
- This site gives information about the show, ship, and crew among other
things. Weekly Nielsen ratings are also given.
- Housing and Household
Economic Statistics Division
- Health insurance, labor force, wealth, vacancy rates, homeownership
and affordability are only a samling of the topics coverd here.
- Bureau of Labor Statistics
- Lots of time series data available here: Employment, CPI, average price,
occupation injury and illness. Information detailing how the data is coded
is located in a file separate from the data.

- Provides links to several transportation related sites containing completed
